| description | Discrimination against indigenous people is a phenomenon that sees their most basic rights violated, including their access to the administration and enforcement of justice. In Mexico, the justice system suffers from numerous defects, which are easily exploited by those wealthy enough to afford bribes. As a result of the inefficiency and corruption of the justice system, indigenous communities from the Montaña de Guerrero have established the Community Police (PC) and the Regional Coordination of Community Authorities (CRAC) of the state of Guerrero. These organizations have developed a security system of justice and reeducation, which is independent from the State and based on indigenous law. Currently the CRAC is a contribution to the recognition of Aboriginal law in the Mexican justice system and is a mandatory reference for processes that develop legal pluralism in the country. |
