| Summary: | This paper studies related literature on the concept of university values and their influence in ensuring staff performance is improved. Concepts such as culture and corporate identity are considered to be fundamentally dependent on institutional ideals. Institutional values refer to elements such as the establishment of corporate governance, interactions with external stakeholders, adherence to ethical conduct, and execution of institutional performance. Furthermore, institutional values are intricately linked to various institutional characteristics, activities, orientations, and results. The research is qualitative and used a conceptual methodology. The objective of this study was to examine the influence of university values on individual staff performance. The data collected were obtained from a compilation of several research papers that specifically examined the impact of values on personnel performance. An analysis of key themes arising from the literature was conducted thematically. The themes of the study encompassed accountability, openness, honesty, academic freedom, quality, and professionalism. The study unveiled that a workplace culture fosters and empowers people to consistently provide their utmost efforts and innovative ideas to their work conducive to both personal development and effective organisational performance. |
