| Summary: | Developing good education is crucial for sustainable development in every nation, particularly for developing countries including Cambodia. While significant progress in education has been made, ensuring a truly inclusive, equitable quality education system remains a challenge. This review paper provides critical discussion and reflection of persistent educational disparities and aspects of social disparities that perpetuate and exacerbate the cycle of the issues, hindering the pursuit of inclusive, equitable quality education in Cambodia, by drawing upon existing literature and providing an academic reflection and stimulating discussion in order to inform policy recommendations. Recognizing the complexity of social disparities and educational disparities, and redressing them requires systematic change, the article offers a novel perspective for practical policy implications to strengthen the education system in such a way that it fosters trust, inculcates credibility, and incubates confidence and pride among children, parents, and the wider community, to cultivate future generations of informed and engaged citizen who can ultimately contribute to a more inclusive society. |
