| Summary: | In the context of the growing phenomenon of South-South migration, this study comprehensively explores the different stages of the migration process of Senegalese to Argentina. It addresses everything from the decision to emigrate and the journey itself to their arrival and settlement in intermediate locations in the country. Using various tools of qualitative methodology, such as in-depth interviews and non-participant observations, it analyzes how devotion to Allah and membership in Sufi brotherhoods guide and shape each phase of this migration process. The study reveals that religious faith not only drives migration but also provides a framework of containment and support during adaptation to a new environment. In addition, it examines how these migrants relocate the sacred in the destination place, adapting their religious practices to maintain their identity and strengthen their sense of community in a socially and culturally diverse environment. The research highlights the importance of religiosity in building a new life far from their country of origin, in integration, and in the recreation of socio-religious spaces in Argentina. |
