Description
Summary:In recent years there has appeared in the contemporary Spanish historiography a school in which quite a negative focus on the Second Republic prevails. It is based on the belief that in April 1931 an excluding revolution (instead of a liberal option) settled in and that in April 1936 a violent period began, which was the responsibility of the left most of all. This period eased the way for the military coup. In this article, the most relevant historians of this school are presented and some of their suppositions referring to the socioeconomic reformism that opened the republican regime are examined.
