Summary:The article examines the concepts of «space» and «educational space» from the point of view of pedagogical science. A comparison of the concepts given by various authors is carried out. The functions of the educational space are highlighted. The characteristics of the educational space are presented. The features of understanding this concept from the point of view of various methodological approaches are determined. The authors have given their own interpretation of the concept of «educational space». The subjects of the educational space and their relationship in this space are indicated. The authors highlighted the conditions under which the educational space will be developing in nature. The article proves that educational space cannot be permanent, it is replaceable.
