Summary: | Pupils’ cooperative boards are inspired by organizations which are at the origin of political democracy. Several pedagogues from the Progressive Education Movement have then decided to implement democratic assemblies among children Republics. Their project consisted in organizing education leads and empowerment for poor, abandoned or neglected by ordinary school structures children. Nowadays, those pupils’ boards fall within citizenship education logics. The analysis of interviews with teachers and pupils shows they convene purposes related to commitment, responsibility, fraternity and peace. |
