Description
Summary:The discussion here involves four union leaders (two male and two female) looking at how they have positioned and continue to position themselves vis-a-vis France’s Yellow Jackets movement. The first thing to note is an occasional divergence in the way that the four individuals – two belonging to the Solidaires union and two to the CGT - analyse the situation. Interestingly, their differences cannot be explained by the unions to which they below nor by the particular nature of the socioeconomic regions where they operate (Greater Paris and the areas around Orléans or Toulouse). All signs point to the likelihood that the social movement’s impact on French unions will be permanent.
