Summary:The article aims to explain the fundamental sovereignty dispute over the Senkaku (Diaoyu) Islands between China and Japan by employing key historical research methodologies, including both historical and logical approaches. The historical method will facilitate an objective reconstruction of the dispute. On the other hand, the logical method enables the author to derive appropriate assessments based on historical evidence. Additionally, the author employs various other research techniques, such as document synthesis and analysis as well as comparative methods. Utilizing available sources, the author will concentrate on clarifying specific aspects, particularly the sovereignty disputes between China and Japan since the end of the Cold War and the impact on the political dynamics in the Asia-Pacific region.
