| description | Abstract This study was conducted on 60 patients, and a number of 120 complete dentures were examined to determine the location and frequency of traumatic ulcerations following the delivery of complete dentures and to evaluate their healing process during follow-up appointments. All patients had adjustment appointments scheduled one week after denture delivery. The ulcers’ locations were recorded using a custom-designed format, and their sizes were measured during each visit until complete healing. The results showed that the most significant reduction in ulcer size occurred after the first adjustment visit. Injuries related to mandibular dentures were significantly more common than those related to maxillary dentures. There was no significant difference in denture-related injuries between males and females. Regular adjustments proved to be the primary factor contributing to ulcer size reduction, eliminating the need for additional therapeutic materials. |
