Background: Nephrolithiasis is the formation of hard, crystalline mineral that originates in the kidney which may descends in the urinary tract.
Objective: Objective of this study is to describe the management of left ureteric calculus in hospital setting. Setting: Department of Urology in Amina Hospital Cantt, Sialkot, Pakistan.
Method: In this case study, referred patient of 50 years old male is suffering from nephrolithiasis having hematuria along with hypertension. Main outcome measure: Lumbar pain and burning micturation of patient was relieved after the use of diclofenac sodium and citrosoda respectively. Also, the stone removal was done by tamsulosin.
Result: Flank pain was treated by pharmacological therapy as well as by dietary modifications to improve hydration by increasing water intake which finally stabilizes the patient.
Conclusion: Tamsulosin and ciprofloxacin along with citro-soda is an effective therapy for treating left lumbar pain radiating to groin area due to nephrolithiasis.
