Description
Summary:Fibrous dysplasia (FD) is a non-neoplastic fibro-osseous bone lesion, it is a developmental disorder characterized by the abnormal proliferation of fibroblasts that leads to the formation of immature osseous tissue. FD is a rare condition that accounts for 5 to 7% of all benign bone tumors. We are presenting a case of a 26-year-old man who presented to the clinic complaining of chronic nasal congestion, the patient had been complaining of symptoms for more than 8 years, A Computed tomography (CT) scan was performed to confirm the presence of an ethmoid bone mass lesion. The patient underwent a surgical endoscopic approach by functional endoscopic sinus surgery (FESS), and he has relived all symptoms. This case underscores the necessity of adopting a comprehensive approach to the diagnosis and management of FD, particularly in atypical presentations. Advancements in surgical techniques, such as FESS, have markedly enhanced patient outcomes.
