| description | In this article I propose to associate the model of the struggle for recognition, theorized by Honneth from Hegel, with the cognitive interpretation of narrative texts as conceived by so-called “first generation” cognitive narratologists (Herman, Fludernik in particular). The aim is to show how the understanding of the text can involve a conflict between the value systems of the author, the characters and the reader. We observe that the intersection of the world of the text and that of the reader, which would be marked by mimesis III according to Ricœur, has a conflicting dimension which results from the combination of opposing conceptions. |
