It is a functional food composed of bioactive compounds crucial for sports nutrition including secondary metabolites, tocopherols, sterols, squalene, trace elements, polyphenols, peptides, polyunsaturated fatty acids, antioxidants, proteins, fat, carbohydrates, fibers, minerals, and vitamins making it a versatile supplement source.
