| Summary: | This paper investigates, through a comparative study between the encyclopedic form of Diderot and D’Alembert and that projected by Novalis in his Allgemeine Brouillon, some epistemological strategies towards the systematicity of knowledge within the modern philosophical canon. It is proposed that the opposition to the French Enlightenment model, founded on a complex understanding of calculus as a paradigm for synthesis, is undertaken, in Romanticism, through a transformation of the mathematical order by the problems of musical composition. |
