Description
Summary:In the “era” in which we are “citizens of social networking services (SNS)” for an important part of each and every day, this paper aims to assess the relationship between professional status and the frequency (in hours) of SNS use, both as a direct relationship and as mediated by adaptive cognitive emotional coping measured with the CERQ questionnaire, with both interactions moderated by marital status. The analyses carried out, based on a batch of 202 adult Romanian citizens, led to the following results: the direct interaction mentioned above was confirmed for married people or people in a couple relationship, while for the mediated interaction, either the hypothesis was confirmed (for the coping strategy positive refocusing) or only moderation tendencies were found (for the coping strategy acceptance and planning refocusing), and this only for single participants or for those who are not part of a couple as a marital status, as well as professionally active or with the intention of becoming professionally active. The results obtained from the current research are consistent with the specialized literature.
