| Summary: | This article presents the “Caí Valley’s Strawberry Territory”, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. It is analised how the strawberry production has potentialized the construction of this territory, structured by power relations, in different scales, and a territoriality visualized in buildings, logotypes and trademarks associated to strawberries. The methodology of the research is qualitative and the thoretical frame is based on the concept of territory. The field research has been implemented in Feliz, Bom Princípio and São Sebastião do Caí counties, the three main producers of strawberries in the Caí Valley region, RS. In these counties the field research has been done with sixty four interviews, in a semistructured questions order, with social actors envolved with the strawberry production. It has been realized by the analysis that the “Caí Valley’s Strawberry Territory” presents a specific territorial dynamics, based on an historical legitimacy constructed by different kowledges and manifestations of power. In short words it is possible to say that at first social actors have appropriated this fruit, but at second, its production has appropriated part of the landscape, public actions, constructing a history, a productive tradition with specific knowledges. This process has contributed decisively for the productive patrimonialization of strawberry in the Caí Valley’s. |
