Summary:Bone infarction refers to the death of bone cells because of ischemia, which can result in bone collapse and joint dysfunction. The causes leading to bone infarction include sickle-cell anemia, long-term steroid usage, alcoholism, dyslipidemia, and trauma. Although several case reports describing multifocal bone infarction in various parts of the body have been published, this is the first report of multiple bone infarctions in the foot of a 12-year-old boy following trauma.
