Birds were infected with filarial larvae found in orthopterans. Results and discussion: Infective larvae of two nematode species Aprocta cylindrica and Diplotriaena isabellina were discovered in 6 orthopterous species of the family Acrididae in a number of Uzbekistan regions. The role of locusts as new intermediate hosts for these nematode species is experimentally established. |
