Although the farmers’ mobilisation may seem at odds with their earlier practices, it still allows them to cast a light on the specific domination issues characterising this sector and creating resistance to any real attempt to publicise pesticides as an issue. It also prevents the opic from being deemed a fully-fledged health at work issue. Thanks, however, to efforts made to collectivise such experiences and the damage they cause, the grouping of victims seems to have successful in launching a real collective strategy for the denunciation of problems of this nature. Farmers who are victims of pesticides appear to have become major players in pesticide-related awareness exercises. They therefore constitute a new player in the field of health at work. |
