| description | The subject of this article falls within the methodology used in the discipline of architecture and urban planning, focused on research and description of the interdependence of ideological, functional and formal aspects. The paper presents an analysis of the design process of one of the architectural objects- Copernicus Science Centre in Warsaw- implemented in the author’s studio. The complementarity of these relationships is summarized by the formula: research by design. In the methodological program of the Author, the project is a process of shaping the urban environment, both in the forms of recording interdisciplinary, professional investment intentions, as well as in the forms of academic models of architecture and urban planning. The essence of the interpretation of an architectural object, allowing for the assessment of its value – is the Idea. In the Copernicus Science Centre, it is the non-aesthetic and non-constructive logic of erosion and the functional machine, the consequence of which is the concept: aesthetic and constructive ideas for separating an adequately shaped space. |
