Description
Summary:The sixties of the last century were a key period for the assertion of popular music practices in Pula: the first album of popular music was recorded, the first breakthrough of a „serious“ composer into the entertainment sphere took place and the first rock band guitar party was organised. By analysing newspaper articles and archival material, as well as through the method of oral history, the article highlights some of the key points of the cultural-political discourse on popular music practices: modern and newly composed folk music and rock & roll.
