Description
Summary:Research into the rehabilitation and reintegration of workers suffering from occupational injuries is fairly recent in Québec. This paper presents a review of the research done in this field in Québec in the last 15 years - in other words, since the publication of the Spitzer report. It focuses mainly on developments in the humanities and in the social and clinical sciences, and examines the major elements that have market this short but fertile period of research history. Early research uncovered the problem of worker reintegration, which had been virtually ignored by researchers until then. Action-oriented, its goal was to provide tools for those concerned, and develop new intervention models. More recent research has been shaped by the emergence of new forms of management combining clinical factors with awareness of the importance of workplace elements in worker reintegration.
