Description
Summary:Between 1975 and 1990, everything seems to become pornographic, and adult comic book magazines serve both as witnesses and agents of the massive pornification of visual culture. More broadly, the exploration of sex and nudity are highly characteristic traits of a history of comics asserting itself as an art of transgression and aesthetic and moral liberation. By studying the editorial content of magazines such as Métal Hurlant, Charlie Mensuel, Pilote et Charlie, L’Écho des Savanes, Rigolo, or Circus, these processes are approached from a more cultural and communicational. This shows the importance of the theme of sex (through drawings, but also through photography, film criticism, music videos, advertising, and more) in defining the identity of the various titles.
