| Summary: | The relevance of the research is determined by the need to train specialists in the agricultural sector, whose professional training includes knowledge of professional disciplines, performance of production tasks and conducting research. The article demonstrates the expediency of using the problem-based learning method in the process of studying mathematical disciplines in agricultural higher education institutions to achieve the necessary results. Theoretical and empirical research methods were used. The need to develop the ability of future agricultural specialists to conduct research is demonstrated, and it is noted that mathematical disciplines are of fundamental importance, as they are an important component of both general education and professional disciplines, as well as a tool for solving problems arising in agricultural production. It was determined that the method of problem-based learning is aimed at the development of critical thinking, creativity and intellectual skills in future agrarian specialists. The tools used in the process of studying mathematical disciplines when using the problem-based method (task-oriented approach, solving real problems, collective problem solving, use of technologies, encouraging creativity, questions and discussions) are offered. For future agricultural specialists, these tools should be used when solving problems in natural sciences that require mathematical analysis, modeling of agronomic processes using mathematical formulas, analysis of economic indicators in agricultural production using mathematical methods, etc. It is shown that the method of problem-based learning is used to develop the skills of creative educational and cognitive activity, meaningful and independent mastery of knowledge, and its key elements are the development of skills of critical thinking, analysis, synthesis and evaluation of information. Examples of the application of the method of problem-based learning during lectures and practical classes are given. Conclusions were made regarding the application of the method of problembased learning for the development of the intellectual potential of future agricultural specialists by teaching the system of mental actions to solve complex and unconventional tasks and the formation of the ability to conduct research activities in the process of studying mathematical disciplines. |
