The fundamental rights of non-Muslims are protected in a Muslim state. In a Muslim state non-Muslim citizen enjoys the same respect and dignity like a Muslim. The Muslim state is responsible for protecting the lives of non-Muslims. The principle of Islam is that if a non-Muslim man in such an area suffers loss of life and property, he will be given Diyat. It will be determined according to the circumstances and the nature of the matter. The Islamic State is responsible for protecting the lives of non-Muslims as well as their property. No Muslim can take undue advantage of their property. Just as the Muslim state is the guarantor of the honor of a Muslim, so is the duty to protect the honor of a non-Muslim citizen. |
