| description | Uterine malignancies are one of the prevalent causes of mortality and morbidity in women of peri- and postmenopausal age groups. The first approach in evaluating postmenopausal bleeding is sonological evaluation, where thickened endometrium is the usual finding, but it is not particularly diagnostic of any pathology. One of the commonly employed strategies to help with timely diagnosis and treatment is endometrial biopsy. Despite such efforts, some entities are more difficult to diagnose due to various condition-specific characteristics, such as carcinosarcoma and adenosarcoma. This case series highlights a few such entities that have created difficulties for pathologists in the course of histopathological evaluation and clinicians in decision-making in management. |
