| Summary: | Nancy is a French city recognized and valued for its architectural heritage: UNESCO classification of the city of the Age of Enlightenment, houses in Art Nouveau of École de Nancy style, etc. But a significant part of its territory, a former industrial suburb born in the 19th century, seems to have been ignored by the local authorities, despite its great historic value. We will therefore try to show that there remain places that are worthy of interest, as they bear testimony to the rich history and geography of this constantly changing territory. This reflection will question the notion of heritage and legacies and their place within urban renewal projects. |
