description
The article presents an overview of a number of modern foreign studies of the psychological and emotional state of people diagnosed with meningioma. An attempt has been made to analyze the influence of various factors on the psycho-emotional state of patients with neoplasms of different sizes. The role of stress in the psychoemotional state of patients is emphasized, since they experience a great psychological burden associated with making a life-threatening diagnosis. There is an increase in the contribution of stereotactic radiosurgery to the treatment of small tumors of the central nervous system. However, despite the low invasiveness of this method, patients undergoing stereotactic radiosurgery are at risk of developing psychopathological disorders. They continue to experience high levels of stress and a decrease in their quality of life even after undergoing the procedure using a Gamma knife. This raises the question of the need to study the emotional state of patients undergoing this treatment method. It is concluded that the mental health of patients, understanding the sources of stress and its development at different stages of the disease and treatment stages remain poorly understood. There is a need for further research to better understand the factors affecting the psychological and social recovery of patients after stereotactic radiosurgery.
