Summary:If cattle are to be reared in the various Reunion regional planning policies, activity can be considered within a fragile island context dependent on supra-national directives. The challenge is to put in perspective the reception capacities of the professional sector taking into account leisure activities, regulations regarding the protection of nature, rurbanization phenomena in the management of spatial planning. The study of a locality in the Plaine des Cafres, “Grande ferme”, using an ethnographic approach and a study of social networks was chosen. The use of qualitative methods makes it possible to approach mutations through individual and family stories. Talking about tourism, heritage development, environmental protection, in the areas that have been developed by the agricultural vector is to requalify the stakes of a region. Thus, study reveals a universe of daily changes in the social space of breeders. New networks of social integration are emerging timidly at the service of innovative professional perspectives.
