Description
Summary:The article is devoted to study the structure, morphology, mechanical properties, phase and elemental composition of synthesized nanostructured biopolymer apatite samples doped ZnO for the needs of orthopedics and dentistry. It is found that modified hydroxyapatite (HA) (Ca/P ~ 1,62-1,63) has increased the crystallites size compared to stoichiometric HA (Ca/P  1,67). As a result of annealing (900 C) is fixed the presence of phases three calcium phosphate and calcium zinc phosphate and reducing of a and c parameters of the HA unit cell. This is the result of the partial substitution of Са2+ for Zn2+ ions, which have different ionic radii (0,104 nm against 0,074 nm).
