description Assessing the state of the mapping level and prospects for digitalization of public administration in the global economy over the past 40 years through the implementation of bibliometric analysis. In this study, an in-depth bibliometric analysis of 3097 publications in the Scopus, RSCI and CNKI database for the period from 1985 to 2024 was conducted using the ‘VOSviewer’ application program. Based on bibliometric analysis, the evolution of digitalization topics in the information and communication technologies context of public administration is traced and retrospectively studied. Five central clusters have emerged: problems of public administration organization, strategies, paradigm shift, effective tools for development and organization of e-government. Directions for future research on performance over time, government regulation policy, the formation of sustainable growth of public administration, international public strategies and governance mechanisms, human capital management (HCM) and data protection and security have also been identified. The study provided a systematic understanding of the development of digitalization in public administration and the prospects for future research. The bibliometric method has demonstrated the importance of identifying gaps and effective strategies in the field of public administration based on digital platforms through quantitative analysis and synthesis of existing literature published in high-ranking international journals.
