Description
Summary:Materials which are used in rotating elements face withfaster deterioration due to vibration, acoustic emissions and the most commonrotating element in dynamic mechanical systems is the bearing element. Due tosurface and micro-structure features, components of the bearings’ frictionaleffect vary in different characteristics such as acoustical response. Particulary,as the oil starvation occur in bearings by the time, the material of thebearing inner race, outer race, balls gain higher priority for preventinginternal and external failures. In this study, some failure modes areexperimented with ball bearings made of 100 Cr 6 (SAE 52100 chrome steel) andevaluated respect to material acoustic response. According to the conclusion, acoustic characteristic responses are achieved in time-domain and frequency-domainin different rotating speeds; and also found that overall RMS values of theacoustic signals are in increasing trend respect to the material deteriorationresponse.
