description Background. The production of long-term operable complex multilayer printed circuit boards is based on the decision to launch enhanced quality control based on an assessment of the reliability of printed circuit boards. The existing mathematical model for predicting the failure rate of complex printed circuit boards has low relevance, which makes it difficult for manufacturers to use it. The purpose of the study is to improve themathematical model for predicting the failure rate for complex multilayer printed circuit boards (which have a high density of radio elements on the board, accuracy class from 5 and above, the number of layers from 4 and above). Materials and methods. To solve this problem, we use: the method of mathematical modeling, the method of determining the failure rate from the theory of reliability. Results. The mathematical model for predicting the failure rate of a printed circuit board has been improved, taking into account additional parameters for complex multilayer printed circuit boards. Conclusions. An improved mathematical model has been tested. The results of this testing are demonstrated using a specific complex multilayer printed circuit board as an example. It is planned to conduct an extended testing of the improved mathematical model and its further implementation at a printed circuit board manufacturer.
