Description
Summary:The present paper concerns the issue of the “integration” approach to teaching “PR in international relations”. The problem is that there is a danger of stressing only one of the two main elements of the discipline, either the public relations or the international relations which can negatively affect the teaching process. The author suggests her own approach to teaching the discipline using texts of interdisciplinary character referring to the field of political speechwriting. On the one hand, these texts feature all the typical traits of a PR-text, as, from the point of view of pragmatics, they are aimed at modifying the behavior of the target audience. On the other hand, public speeches of world famous politicians cover the issues and events from the political agenda and, consequently, reflect all the key problems from the theory and practice of international relations.
