description This paper aims to identify and evaluate the effective criteria on the readiness of the green suppliers of Iran's zinc industry as one of the national industries using the combined approach of Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) and Multi-Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) techniques of the Fuzzy Analysis Hierarchy Process (FAHP) and Additive Ratio Assessment (ARAS). Primary criteria were identified with a broad review of the literature. The result of CFA using opinions of 60 industry experts showed that 12 criteria were confirmed. The output of FAHP showed that the criteria of “Green Operations” with the greatest weight placed in the first rank; and “Auditability” placed at the last rank with the lowest weight. To ensure and verify the validity of the pairwise comparisons of experts in the FAHP, the Step-Wise Weight Assessment Ratio Analysis (SWARA) technique was used for comparative analysis. The results indicated very appropriate weighting and ranking in FAHP. Six key green suppliers were evaluated and their ranking was obtained. The output of ARAS showed that the second, fifth and third suppliers were ranked first to third respectively. Next, sensitivity analysis of the techniques was performed in several iterations and different scenarios. The analysis showed that the changes did not affect the ranking of the alternatives and the ARAS output has very little sensitivity, which indicates the high stability and power of the techniques used in the assessments. The proposed approach provides a valuable conceptual framework to industry managers to improve the status of suppliers; So that by choosing the best green suppliers in terms of readiness to adopting and apply BCT, it will be an important step in organizing, managing and improving performance in order to support business, strategy, environment and sustainability.
