Summary:Objectives Paper aims to explore how the integration of digital technologies reshapes these interactions within the framework of an information society. The study focuses on evaluating the hypothesis that the mObywatel application, as a pivotal example of digital public administration, catalyzes changes in the interactions between citizens and the state. It will examine the role of digital tools in modifying these relationships and assess the broader implications for civic engagement and administrative efficiency. The research investigate the societal reception of digital transformation initiatives. Material and methods This is a quantitative pilot study. Critical analysis, descriptive statistical data analysis and inference were also used in the research process. In formulating conclusions, we also referred to our own observations and reflections from previous research. Research techniques were used: a CAWI questionnaire, analysis of found data (qualitative document analysis, desk research). Results The result is a partial verification of the research hypothesis (H1:The mO app, as an exemplar of digital transformation within public administration in Poland, induces changes in the relationships between citizens and the state in the era of the information society.Additional research questions posed include), an indication of recommendations in the area under investigation and a direction for further in-depth research. Conclusions The mO app is a very good example of the digital transfomation of public administration in Poland, it is an example of the implementation of e-government tools in Poland, in line with EU public policies on digitisation. Citizens use the application widely and willingly. The application does not cause significant changes in the citizen-state relationship in the subjective perception of respondents.
