Description
Summary:Magnetic flux leakage internal detection is an efficient method for detecting defects in long-distance pipelines. However, some corrosion points (such as stray current corrosion) contain a large amount of ferromagnetic corrosion products, which can affect the overflow of the leakage magnetic field at the defect site, resulting in a smaller evaluation of the detected data and even missed detections.Based on the fundamental principles of magnetic flux leakage internal detection, the reasons for the generation of leakage magnetic fields at defect sites were elucidated.Combined with pull-out tests and practical engineering cases, it was demonstrated that ferromagnetic corrosion products hinder the leakage of magnetic fields at corrosion defects. This provided technical support for enhancing the identification of such defects in the future and improving the effectiveness of pipeline magnetic flux leakage internal detection.
