| Summary: | This paper discusses the capacity of narrative to make sense beyond
the specific meaning of its parts. The author presents the nature of narrative
as a multi-level web of meanings that make a stoiy possible. Narrative
is approached in its Spanish name: relato ^which immediately
refers to relation, in a broader sense, so that notions such as life and
world can be considered in their symbolic value as a construction made
by the subject, with the same principles governing the making of a
story. The article presents this general theorization of relatum as the basis
of a semiotic model currently being developed by the author. |
