Summary:Acrylamide is one of the contaminants that often contaminate daily food. Drosophila melanogaster is a model organism for toxicity, but its application in Indonesia is still limited. The purpose of this study was to adapt the exploratory larval assay protocol and then analyze the effect of acrylamide and strain differences on the distance traveled by larvae following the assay. To see the consistency of the results, ANOVA tests were conducted on all groups that had not received treatment. To see the impact of acrylamide exposure, ANCOVA tests were run. As a result, the results of the exploratory larval assay observations were consistent. On the other hand, acrylamide had a significant effect on the distance traveled by flies, as did strain differences. The results of this study are expected to be a consideration regarding the regulation of acrylamide contamination in various food products.
