Description
Summary:The polymerisation of acetylenes I having both electrondonating and electronaccepting groups (“push-pull-acetylenes”) in solution yields oligomers of low molecular weight, cationic catalysts being more effective than anionic ones. In most cases there exists a linear dependence of the polymer yield on the amount of the added catalyst. Spectroscopic data show that the triple bond is involved in polymerisation. The products probably have the structure of substituted polyolefins.
