| description | Recently, the topic of entrepreneur resilience has attracted great attention. However, existing research has largely overlooked the interpersonal effect of entrepreneur resilience and the underlying team-level mechanisms through which it influences entrepreneurial performance. Drawing on social information processing theory and Marks et al. (2001) team process taxonomy, we propose a sequential mediation model explaining how resilient lead entrepreneurs improve performance through new venture teams (NVTs). We conduct a field study with 71 NVTs and an online study with 66 NVTs to test the theoretical model. The results revealed that lead entrepreneur resilience develops team resilience, team resilience mediates the relationship between lead entrepreneur resilience and entrepreneurial performance, and team resilience and team reflexivity serially mediate the relationship between lead entrepreneur resilience and entrepreneurial performance. Through discussing the results, we highlight the theoretical contributions to existing research and provide practical suggestions for entrepreneurship and crisis management. |
