description This introduction invites to explore, beyond current revolutionary temporalities, how power relations are produced and contested in the Islamic Republic of Iran. It presents research on Iran that has analysed gender, class, ethnic and racial relations of power. Additionally, it shows the epistemological stakes of considering the interweaving of these power relations. Finally, it underlines the three themes addressed by the four articles and three interviews of this issue, namely the processes of racial, national, and ethnic minoritisation engaged in the name of women; the production of socio-economic vulnerability through gender and ethnicity; and the politics of alliances and social hierarchies between minority groups.
