description Sustainability and resilience are critical challenges for the supply chain of agricultural products, especially in remote rural areas with limited market access, inadequate infrastructure, and insufficient information and institutional support. This study aims to examine and develop strategies to enhance the sustainability of the coconut supply chain (CSC) in Indragiri Hilir Regency, a key coconut producer in a remote region of the Riau Province, Indonesia. Utilizing a comprehensive mapping approach, we combined observations with stakeholder interviews to assess the CSC's sustainability across environmental, social, and economic dimensions. A novel sustainability index was developed based on activity indicators for this evaluation. Our findings reveal significant areas for improvement, particularly in the marketing stage, which exhibits low sustainability. Although environmental and social aspects demonstrate moderate sustainability, the economic dimension remains notably vulnerable. Achieving a more resilient and sustainable CSC requires collective action among stakeholders, with a focus on strengthening governance policies and regulations that support the entire CSC, promoting economic viability, environmental responsibility, and social well-being.
