| description | Abstract Recently there has been increased interest in nutraceuticals because of a high safety margin, significant role in treating number of diseases and minimal probability of adverse reactions. Nevertheless, certain obstacles, such as low permeability and poor solubility, which lead to low bioavailability, limit their effectiveness. The therapeutic effect of nutraceuticals has improved as a result of delivery carriers' demonstrated ability to get around nearly all of the aforementioned constraints. Mangiferin, a polyphenol from the mango tree that has many positive pharmacological actions, is one of the promising nutraceuticals that has attracted a lot of interest recently. However, its solubility in aqueous phase is very low and other issues that limit its efficacy and bioavailability. The pharmacological actions of mangiferin are outlined in this review, which also offers insight into how delivery vehicles (Complexes, protein nanoparticles, inorganic nanoparticles, polymeric nanoparticles, vesicular nanoparticles, and lipidic nanoparticles) can overcome mangiferin pharmaceutical challenges, thereby improving its therapeutic effects in the treatment of various diseases. The analytical methodologies available for the estimation of this natural product in various matrix was also discussed in this review. Graphical Abstract |
