After studying the larvae of eight dacetine genera (Daceton, Orectognathus, Epopostruma, Mesostruma, Alistruma, Clarkistruma, Strumigenys and Smithistruma) representing all four subtribes, we concluded (1954) that the larval similarities and differences confirmed the grouping of the adults.
