The study presents a systematic overview of professional interest with regard to Czech stylistic theorists and the Czech written/spoken style of scientific communication. The aim of the paper is a descriptive analysis of studies dealing with the theoretical professional style, including an evaluation of the current state of research. Publications such as articles, books, and possibly also research reports were included in the overview. The language of the publications is mainly Czech, exceptionally English or another foreign language of the Czech linguist’s contribution in a foreign journal. The paper focuses on the theoretical professional style, which is focused on the presentation of new knowledge, is formally and precisely elaborated and is assumed to be a professional (informed) recipient.
