Description
Summary:The gearbox lubrication system is an indispensable component of mechanical transmission systems. Under high-speed and heavy-load conditions, improper lubrication can easily lead to lubrication failure, which directly compromises the efficiency of gear transmission systems. Therefore, it is of great significance to investigate gearbox lubrication technologies using computational fluid dynamics (CFD). Based on a thorough analysis and synthesis of research efforts both domestically and internationally, this paper reviews the development of lubrication modeling in gearboxes. The current research status is discussed from several key perspectives, including CFD methods and mesh generation techniques, turbulence modeling, the influence of vibration and temperature, and experimental investigations. Furthermore, potential directions for future research in gearbox lubrication are explored. This study aims to provide a valuable reference for future comprehensive investigations into gearbox lubrication systems, with the goal of improving the service life and overall performance of gear transmission systems.
