| Summary: | In the middle of 18th century, the Spanish Crown promoted, following the en-lightened presuppositions, the creation of hospices. In them, there were factories, where indigents could work and become useful and productive persons. The majority were focus in the textile industry, although there were particular cases, such as Granada’s Hospice. Between 1767 and 1769, the head of the Granadan institition tried to create a canvas and rigging’s factories in order to deal with the Navy. In this paper, we go in depth in the study of that project with the objective of analyse the development of the hospice’s factories and the motives which could awaken interest in this «strategic products». |
