description In most of the cognitive radio (CR) network scenarios,there are multiple primary users (PU) with intense traffic.A novel multi-PU multi-state CR access mechanism and the corresponding multi-power access strategy based on the primary user traffic were proposed to address this problem.The method enabled the secondary user (SU) to access the optimal channel and adopt an appropriate power to transmit data,which could maximize the throughput of the CR system.Numerical simulation results show that the proposed method can enable the SU to take advantage of the information and resource of the multi-PU.The method not only minimizes the interference to the primary user,but also improves the achievable throughput of the CR system.
